Biographical Information[edit]

Chih-Chiang Cheng pitched in the CPBL for 2 years. His cousin Da-Hung Cheng also played in the CPBL.

Cheng represented Taiwan in the 1997 World Youth Championship, 2000 World Junior Championship (hitting .429) and 2002 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He was drafted by the Chinatrust Whales in the 3rd round of the 2005 CPBL Draft, and his ERA was 1.84 in 9 games in 2006. However, since the Whales had plenty of talented local pitchers, Cheng only played 2 games with the big club in the next two seasons. The Whales were expelled after the 2008 season, and his professional career ended. He then coached Taiwan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup and 2022 U-18 Baseball World Cup.

Overall, Cheng was 0-0 with a 1.83 ERA, pitched 19 2/3 innings and struck out 13 in 2 seasons in the CPBL.
