Biographical Information[edit]
Chick Lathers was an infielder, one in college (1909) and two in the Major Leagues (1910-1911). He was a World War I Veteran (BN). He played for the University of Michigan. He played in 70 games for the Detroit Tigers (1910-1911), playing at all four infield positions. He operated a large dairy farm on Burt Lake, east of Brutus MI, from 1934 to 1962 and was active in civic and community affairs in the area. After selling his farm, he spent his winters in Florida. Lathers died at age 82 at Little Traverse Hospital in Petoskey, MI and is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey.
