Biographical Information[edit]
Chick Bowen came out of Holy Cross in 1919, where he had been with Joe Dugan and Jigger Statz. He made his major league debut in September 1919 for manager John McGraw and the New York Giants. His major league career consisted of 3 games as an outfielder, during which he went 1 for 5 with a walk. The next year, with the Rochester Hustlers, he hit .292. He was the baseball coach at Hillhouse High School in New Haven in the early 1940s.
