Chicago Times Herald

From BR Bullpen

The Chicago Times Herald was a daily newspaper in Chicago, IL formed in 1895 by the merger of the Chicago Times, founded in 1854 and the city's principal paper at the time, and the Chicago Herald, a more recent rival dating back to 1881 but which had become quite successful in the intervening years. In 1901, the paper merged again, this time with the Chicago Record, becoming the Record Herald, and then simply the Chicago Herald in 1914. Another merger in 1918, with the Chicago Examiner, begat the Chicago Herald and Examiner, which would also go through a number of name changes.

John T. Powers wrote for the paper in the 1890s when it was at its height. John Walsh was the paper's owner for a time.
