Chiapas

The state of Chiapas is located in southeastern Mexico, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean and on the border of Guatemala. Its capital is Tuxtla Gutiérrez. The state was the site of an indigenous rebellion against the central authorities in the late 1990s.
