Biographical Information[edit]
Chia-Wei Chen played in the CPBL and for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.
Chen represented Taiwan in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup (batting .200/.250/.333 and fielding .840 at the hot corner), 2003 Baseball World Cup (hitting .192/.276/.231 and fielding .842 at 3B) and 2004 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He was 2 for 8 in the Haarlemse Honkbalweek. The Uni-President Lions drafted Chen in the 2nd round of the 2005 CPBL draft. Chen batted .327/.364/.363 in his rookie year, but declined to .241/.289/.302 in 2006. The Lions released Chen due to unknown reason after 2006 season. He became a high school coach after retiring, and coached Changhua Arts High School from 2007 to 2008.
