Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie O'Malley served as Northeastern University's head coach from 1982 to 1985, replacing John Connelly and being replaced by Neil McPhee. He went 58-73-1. He also served as an assistant coach at Harvard University.
A catcher, he played in the Philadelphia Phillies system from 1948 to 1950. In his final campaign, he hit .302 with 84 hits in 88 games for the Bradford Phillies. He later became a minor league executive, serving as the general manager (among other roles) of the Springfield Giants.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
His middle name is listed as "Jeremian," though that was likely a typographical error and it was actually Jeremiah. In addition, this lists his birth year as 1927, though Baseball Reference lists it as 1923.
