Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie Henry was a Negro League pitcher in the 1920s.
Downs debuted about 1922 as a pitcher with the Hilldale Club, which at the time was an associate member of the Negro National League. He joined the club again in 1924, pitching sparingly through 1926. He also pitched briefly for he Detroit Stars before dropping to lower-tier play.
He served as pilot of the Detroit Black Sox of the Negro Major Baseball League in 1942, finishing in the second divison.
