Biographical Information[edit]

"Charlie Armbruster is catching better ball for Boston now than at any time since he joined the club. He has been hitting some of late, too." - Sporting Life, July 14, 1906

Catcher Charlie Armbruster played three years in the majors. Prior to his major league days, he played for the New London Whalers from 1902 to 1905, and in 1909 and 1910 he played for the Portland Colts and Portland Beavers. He is one of three major leaguers (through 2020) who have died in Grants Pass, OR, the others being Hub Pernoll and Ken Williams.
