Charlestown is located in south-western New Hampshire, on the Connecticut River. It is 5 miles south-east of Springfield, VT, on the other side of the River, and 45 miles north-east of Manchester, NH.

Charlestown is the hometown of Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk even though he was born in Vermont.
