Charles O'Day played and managed in the minors.
O'Day hit .200 for the 1903 Dubuque Shamrocks. He managed the 1907 Mattoon Giants. In 1908, he batted .220/?/.321 with 9 triples (tied for 9th in the Ohio State League) for the Marion Diggers while also guiding them to a 78-71 finish. He started 1909 as player-manager of Marion and finished the year in the same role with the Portsmouth Cobblers (also in the OSL). He hit .197/?/.229 overall. He hit .236/?/.311 for the 1910 Newark Newks and also managed them part of the season. He also guided the Decatur Commodores during the year. In '11, he hit .257 and slugged .321 for the Springfield Reapers and managed both Springfield and the Indianapolis Indians for parts of the year. He piloted Charleroi in 1914, the Danville Veterans in 1922 and the Roswell Giants in 1923.
