Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Charles Hoffman played in the minor leagues from 1941 to 1943 and in 1946. His best season was 1942, when he hit .285 with 145 hits in 128 games between the Logan Indians and Zanesville Cubs. He also managed the Indians for part of the season, replacing Grover Hartley and being replaced by Ray Ryan. In his final campaign, he hit .301 with 69 hits in 71 games for the Portsmouth Cubs. Overall, he batted .263.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.
