Charles Baker umpired one National League game in 1884. The date of death listed for him on Retrosheet (January 15, 1937) is that of near namesake Charlie Baker, who was also active in 1884, but as a player in the Union Association. It is possible that the two are the same person, or that Charlie's date of death was assigned to Charles by mistake.
