Biographical Information[edit]

Chance Adams made his major league debut for the New York Yankees late in the 2018 season. He was 0-1, 7.04 in 3 games, including one start. He recorded his first career win on May 25, 2019, in the second game of a doubleheader sweep over the Kansas City Royals, when he was called up from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to serve as 26th man. It was a bullpen game in which Chad Green pitched the first two innings and Chance followed with four innings to earn credit for the 6-5 win. Adams was once a highly-touted Yankees pitching prospect whom the Bombers were reluctant to package in a deal to obtain then-Pirates ace Gerrit Cole. 16 tough appearances over 2018 and 2019 in pinstripes, pitching to an 8.18 ERA in 33 innings, led to his being designated for assignment on December 18, 2019, so the team could make roster space for... you guessed it... free agent acquisition Gerrit Cole. Adams was peddled to the Kansas City Royals on December 23.
