Biographical Information[edit]

Cesar Chavarria was 2 for 11 for the Nicaraguan national team in the 1984 Amateur World Series, throwing out two of three attempted base-stealers as the backup to Tomas Guzman. He also played for Nicaragua in the 1984 Olympics, 1985 Intercontinental Cup and 1986 Central American Games, winning Gold in the 1986 event. He hit .235/.287/.308 in 788 games in Nicaragua, with 199 runs and 210 RBI.
