Carlos Melo reached A ball in 2010.

Melo signed with the Detroit Tigers in July 2007 at age 16. He made his pro debut with the 2008 DSL Tigers, going 3-3 with a 5.14 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 49 innings. He was then traded to the Detroit Tigers with Guillermo Moscoso for Gerald Laird.

In 2009, Carlos was 1-4 with a 7.09 ERA for the AZL Rangers, with a WHIP of 1.79. Melo allowed one run in 1 2/3 innings for the 2010 Hickory Crawdads then was dropped back to the AZL Rangers, where he started off 3-4 with a 3.83 ERA and 65 K in 51 2/3 innings.
