Biographical Information[edit]
Carl Lindquist pitched in the majors for the 1943-44 Boston Braves. He also had a ten-year minor league career as listed by the SABR database although Mansfield University of Pennsylvania states he had a 12-year professional baseball career.
Lindquist is not to be confused with another pitcher of a similar name, David Lundquist, nor another pitcher with a somewhat similar name, Carl Lundgren.
Carl attended Mansfield State Teachers College from 1938-40. He is the only player from that school to debut in the majors between the years 1933-78.
Lindquist went 15-8 for Hartford in 1943 and made his major league debut on September 27, 1943. He had more major league appearances in 1944, with an ERA that season of 3.12. He was two years younger than teammate Tommy Holmes.
The find-a-grave site lists his date of death as 2001 and has a photo of him in a Braves uniform.
