Carl Furutani

Carl Furutani has been a long-time college coach.

Furutani joined his alma mater, the University of Hawai'i, as an assistant coach in 1980. From 1980-1986, he taught physical education at the school as well as being an assistant coach part-time. He was full-time coach for the school from 1987-2000. In 2001, he was head coach, filling in when Les Murakami had a stroke. He coached Scott Karl, Chuck Crim and Mike Campbell while they were in college.
