Biographical Information[edit]
Les Murakamai was head coach of the University of Hawai'i from 1971-2000. He won 1,079 games and took the team to the 1980 College World Series, where they finished second. He coached Glenn Braggs, Mike Campbell, Chuck Crim, Chuck Jackson and Scott Karl among other major league-bound players. He won six Western Athletic Conference titles. He was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2000 and to the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame.
