The Cambridge Cantabs entered the Northeastern League along with the Watertown Townies at the beginning of the second half of the season. The team moved to Wayland, MA two weeks later to become the Wayland Birds. In Roman times, Cambridge, England had been known as Cantabulum, which became the source of the team nickname.
