Biographical Information[edit]

Cal Barr graduated from Duluth East High School in 1973. He attended Broward College for one year and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 5th round of the January 1974 amateur draft. He played as a catcher/first baseman for the GCL Cardinals and the St. Petersburg Cardinals in 1974 and the Johnson City Cardinals in 1975.

He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth after his pro baseball career. He played football for the Bulldogs and was a two-time All-Conference selection and a Third Team All-American as a linebacker in 1978. He signed with the NFL's Atlanta Falcons in 1979 but the Falcons released him on waivers in July of that year.

Barr has been the head baseball coach at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, MN and an assistant baseball coach at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
