Cairo is the largest city and capital of Egypt. It is the sixth most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is also the most populous metropolitan area in Africa. The Pyramids are located just outside the city, in Giza.

On February 9, 1889, as part of the world tour put together by Albert Spalding featuring the Chicago White Stockings and an All-Star team of major leaguers, a game was played at the foot of the Pyramids.
