Biographical Information[edit]

Byron Wiehe was a longtime college coach.

Wiehe was an assistant coach in multiple sports at his alma mater upon graduating in 1969. He coached 3 sports at Littleton High School from 1970-1973, then was coach and teacher at Heritage High School for a year. He went to Mesa College in September 1974 as aquatics instructor and assistant coach for football and baseball. [1]

Wiehe became head coach of the baseball team at Mesa in 1976, coinciding with the school's move from junior college competition to four year competition. He stayed through 1994 compiling a 537-347 in 19 seasons. The team was a regular participant in the NAIA playoffs, and won eight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournaments.
