Biographical information[edit]

Robert Young was a minor league baseball first baseman. He played on-and-off from 1916 to 1927, hitting as high as .325 in a season. He later became a manager. In 1920, he managed the Abilene Eagles to the West Texas League championship. He was replaced by Ed Kizziar in August. In 1924, he managed the Marshall Indians, being replaced by Pete Daniels May 21st. who, in turn, was replaced by Johnnie Baggan on May 23rd. During his time with the Indians, he managed Wally Dashiell and multiple other future major leaguers. He was previously listed as Bugs Young.

His deathplace was previously listed as Brownwood, TX, though that is where he is interred.
