Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Bubba Dunn was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 6th round of the 1989 amateur draft and played in their system from 1989 to 1991.

With the GCL Royals in 1989, Dunn was 3-2 with two saves and a 4.54 ERA in 19 relief appearances, striking out 41 batters in 33 2/3 innings. He went 4-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 19 games (seven starts) for the Baseball City Royals in 1990 (44 BB, 43 H in 67 2/3 IP) and in 1991, he was 4-7 with a 4.35 ERA in 19 games (17 starts) for the Appleton Foxes (14 G, 4-4 W-L, 3.39 ERA) and Baseball City Royals (5 G, 0-3 W-L, 11.12 ERA). He had 59 walks and 10 wild pitches that year in 91 IP.

Overall, Dunn was 11-12 with two saves and a 4.21 ERA in 57 games (24 starts) in his three-year career. In 192 1/3 IP, he allowed 160 hits but walked 122. He struck out 158.

He died on December 1, 2012 at the age of 43 from an apparent heart attack.
