Biographical Information[edit]

Bryan Conger is a college coach.

Conger spent two seasons in the independent leagues. He had a 6-4, 4.64 record for the 1996 Pine Bluff Locomotives then split 1997 between the Abilene Prairie Dogs and Tupelo Tornado (1-1, 2.33). He returned to his alma mater, Tarleton State, as pitching coach in 1998-1999. Next, he was pitching coach at Lamar Community College, working with Brandon McCarthy. In 2003, he was head coach of Cloud County Community College, guiding the school to its first postseason win ever. He was pitching coach at the University of Utah from 2004-2008, then was back with Tarleton again, this time as head coach. He went 28-30-1 in 2009. He stayed with Tarleton through 2018. He was hired by the Texas Rangers for an unspecified spot in their player-development operation for 2019. He moved to the Cincinnati Reds as pitching coordinator in 2021.

Conger's son, Maddux Conger, pitched at Vanderbilt University and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 2018 amateur draft.
