Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Bryan Blough played in the Chicago White Sox minor league system from 2011 to 2014 and in independent ball in 2015. He was taken by the club in the 18th round of the 2011 amateur draft, a couple picks after infielder Jon Berti and a few ahead of pitcher Nick Martinez. He was signed by scout Kevin Burrell.

Blough was used primarily as a reliever in 2011 and 2012, though he converted to starting for 2013 and went 11-11 with a 3.81 ERA in 28 starts. He led the Carolina League in starts and innings pitched (172 2/3) and tied for the lead in victories and complete games (3). The Baseball Cube ranked him as the best pitcher in the Carolina League that year. He returned to relieving primarily to begin 2014.
