Biographical Information[edit]
Bruce Colson pitched two seasons in the minors, once leading his team in wins. Undrafted, he signed with the Cincinnati Reds. He was 7-2 with a 2.12 ERA for the 1987 GCL Reds. He tied Daniel Newman, Carl Nordstrom and Greg Karklins for the Gulf Coast League win lead. He also was 9th in ERA, between Bill Risley and Juan Ramirez. In 1988, the right-hander fell to 1-3 with a save and a still-decent 3.17 ERA in 30 games for the Cedar Rapids Reds. His baseball career ended despite a composite record of 8-5, 2.58 in 44 contests.
