Brooklyn Center is located in central Minnesota, on the west bank of the Mississippi River, 5 miles north of Minneapolis, MN. The normally quiet suburb was the location of the killing of a black motorist by a white policewoman in April 2021 that led to the postponement of a Minnesota Twins game on April 12th.
