In 1937, the Brockville Pirates became the Brockville Blues. That year, they went 30-69-1 under manager Jess Spring. One bright spot was John Grilli, who hit a league-high .409, but did not play enough to qualify for the batting title, which instead went to Maurice Van Robays. Due to financial trouble and tepid fan support, the team was forfeited to the league on February 20, 1938.
