One of the charter members of the Canadian-American League, the Brockville Pirates were third the first year at 43-36-2 under Jess Spring and then beat the Ottawa Senators in the Shaughnessy Playoffs before losing in the finals to Perth, 3 games to 0. The star hitter and pitcher was the same man, Frank Perkowski (9-6, 3.81; .323 with 12 homers and 51 RBI, leading the team in average, homers and ERA).
