Biographical Information[edit]

Brian Rose served as the Wichita Wingnuts bench coach from 2010 to 2012. Rose was first diagnosed with melanoma, a form of skin cancer, when it was found in a mole on his head in April 2010, just before the start of his first season with the Wingnuts. Surgery appeared to have eliminated the disease, but after that season symptoms reappeared and he was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma in October 2010. He died at 34 from melanoma. The Wingnuts retired his number 3.

He also coached for the Grand Prairie Airhogs.

Rose served in the Marines in the late 1990s.
