Brian Omogrosso is a pitcher who made his major league debut with the Chicago White Sox in 2012. He was signed by the White Sox scout Mike Shirley as a sixth round pick in the 2006 amateur draft.
He began his professional career in 2006 with the Kannapolis Intimidators, going 1-2 with a 3.19 ERA in 22 relief appearances. With the Winston-Salem Warthogs in 2007, Omogrosso went 8-8 with a 3.74 ERA in 40 games (14 starts), striking out 108 batters in 120 1/3 innings. In 2008, he pitched for the Birmingham Barons, going 2-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 17 games (five starts). He split 2009 between the Barons and the Charlotte Knights, going a combined 7-2 with a 5.03 ERA in 17 games (13 starts).
In his major league debut on July 3, 2012, he relieved Chris Sale in the 8th inning of a game against the Texas Rangers with the Sox holding a 19-1, lead, Sale just having lost his bid for a shutout. Brian gave up a run on 4 hits in 1 2/3 inning to finish the game.
