Biographical Information[edit]

Drafted out of high school as an 18-year-old in the 1978 amateur draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, Brian Milner made his professional debut at the major league level on June 23, 1978, going 1-for-4. Three days later, he was the starting catcher in the Blue Jays' 24-10 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on June 26th - 24 runs is still the largest number of runs the Jays have ever scored in a single game (as of 2012).

After playing in just those two games for the Blue Jays and going 4-for-9, Milner was sent down to the Medicine Hat Blue Jays in the Pioneer League. Injuries cut short his minor league career and he never returned to the majors.

He served as a coach for the Oneonta Yankees in 1990, Greensboro Hornets in 1991-1992, the Prince William Cannons in 1993, and Greensboro Bats in 1994-1995.

Milner's son Hoby Milner began his minor league career in 2012.
