Biographical Information[edit]

Brian Maxcy pitched 41 games for the Detroit Tigers in 1995 and 2 in 1996. His minor league career was from 1992 to 1999, with the Tigers, the St. Louis Cardinals, the New York Mets, and the Houston Astros.

Drafted in the 20th round in the 1992 amateur draft by the Tigers, he went 4-2 with a 3.47 ERA in the rookie league, and then in 1993 went 12-4 with a 2.93 ERA in Single A ball. After pitching 5 games in 1994 in Double A without giving up an earned run, he was moved up to Triple A where he appeared in 24 games with a 1.62 ERA.

He split 1995 between the majors and the minors, and was not as successful in Triple A this time around. He was mostly in the minors in 1996, and traded in June to the St. Louis Cardinals organization. His ERA in 1997 at Triple A was 3.76. In 1998, he did well with the New York Mets Triple A affiliate, posting a 2.74 ERA.

He was at the University of Mississippi at the same time as Chris Snopek, and the two came to the majors in the same year also.
