Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Snopek, a major leaguer for four years, played most of his career for the Chicago White Sox in the years between their division-leading finishes of 1994 and 2000. In the 2001 Baseball World Cup, Snopek manned third base for Team USA and hit .364/.417/.545 with 9 runs in 9 games.

In the minors, he was a teammate of Michael Jordan with the Birmingham Barons in 1994.

He started out at the major league level quite well, with a batting average of .324 in 1995, but his average dropped each succeeding year.

He was mostly a third baseman, trying to make the team while Robin Ventura owned the third base position, although he also played shortstop, second base, and a few games elsewhere.

He later taught at the Performance Sports Academy in Mississippi.
