Brian Kaplan
Brian Kaplan
- School University of Notre Dame
Biographical Information[edit]
Brian Kaplan played college baseball at the University of Notre Dame in 2001. A pitcher, he only had a short career as he developed thoracic outlet syndrome, a malady that was not well understood at the time and basically spelled the end of any pitching career. Forced to find another career, he sold fitness equipment and designed gyms in Florida for a spell. He began tutoring kids who were interested in developing their baseball skills, which led to the eventual founding of Cressey Sports Performance, in Jupiter, FL. The facility became used by major league baseball players, and Kaplan's reputation eventually came to the ear of major league teams.
Before the 2022 season, he was hired by the Philadelphia Phillies to serve as their Assistant Pitching Coach as well as Director of Pitching Development for the organization. Kaplan remained in this dual role through the 2024 season.
