Biographical Information

Brian Gausman spent one season in the minors; his brother Kevin Gausman reached the majors.

Brian was All-State as a high school senior. He had a 7-3, 5.50 record and two saves as a college freshman, tying for the team lead in wins and leading with 21 pitching appearances. He again led in games pitched (23) in 2005 but fell to 4-4, 7.68. He went 4-6 with a 6.38 ERA as a junior. His senior year, he was 6-4 with a 4.55 ERA and 80 strikeouts, leading the staff in wins, Ks and ERA. Undrafted, he signed with the Kansas City Royals. He went 3-2 with a 2.68 ERA in 13 games for the Burlington Royals for his lone season in pro ball.
