Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Brent Stentz was originally drafted in 1993 in the 45th round by the San Diego Padres, but didn't sign. The following year, he was taken in the 33rd round in the 1994 Amateur Draft by the Detroit Tigers. He was later traded for Matt Walbeck. In his seven minor league seasons, he went 24-22 with 117 saves and a 3.43 ERA.

He holds the Eastern League single season saves record, accumulating 43 in 1998 while with the New Britain Rock Cats.
