Biographical Information[edit]
Brent Abernathy played parts of four big league seasons, primarily wearing number 3. In his longest look, 2002 with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, he managed just a .242/.288/.311 line in 117 games and 463 at bats. He won an Olympic gold medal with the United States in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and batted .412 for the US in the round-robin phase of the 1995 World Junior Championship to finish third behind Davide Dallospedale and Cheng-Min Peng. He joined teammate Eric Valent and Yoandry Garlobo as the All-Star outfield selections.
