Brea is located in the Los Angeles, CA metropolitan area in southern California, north of Fullerton, CA and Placentia, CA and northwest of Yorba Linda, CA. One of its neighborhoods is the former independent town of Olinda, which was known for its oil wells and where Walter Johnson and his family settled down after leaving their native Kansas.
