Biographical Information[edit]

Braxton Lorenzini has pitched in the minor leagues and for the Italian national team.

Lorenzini was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 33rd round of the 2015 Amateur Draft (the scout was Sam Ray) [1], and he had a 5.21 ERA in 12 games for the AZL Padres in his first year. He struggled again in 2016 as his ERA was 6.15 in 13 games for the Tri-City Dust Devils, and he also pitched 3 2/3 shutout innings for the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Lorenzini was then sent back to the AZL again in 2018, and he allowed 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings for the AZL Padres 1. The Padres released him in July, and the Colorado Rockies signed him on May 19, 2018. He improved to 4-0 with a 2.57 ERA and a save for the Asheville Tourists the remainder of that season, but he slumped to a 6.15 ERA in 25 games for the Lancaster JetHawks in 2019. Lorenzini also pitched 7 1/3 innings for the Boise Hawks in '19, and his ERA was 11.05. He allowed 11 runs in 1 1/3 innings for the AZL Rockies in 2021, and the Rockies released him. Lorenzini then made it onto Italy's roster for the 2023 World Baseball Classic, but he didn't pitch any games.
