Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Braxton Davidson was drafted by the Atlanta Braves as the 32nd overall pick in the 2014 amateur draft out of high school (the pick was compensation for the loss of Brian McCann to free agency). The scout was Billy Best. Davidson had hit .462 as a high school senior and was named North Carolina Gatorade High School Player of the Year.

He hit .224/.387/.299 with 31 walks in 50 games between the GCL Braves and Danville Braves in 2014. Going into 2015, Baseball America ranked him the #6 prospect in the Braves system; he hit .242/.381/.374 with 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 84 walks in 124 games for the Rome Braves. BA ranked him #15 in the Braves system for 2016. He began the year with the Carolina Mudcats.
