Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Brandon Walter was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 26th round of the 2019 amateur draft, out of the University of Delaware, At Delaware, he had missed part of the 2017 season and all of 2018 due to an injury, adversely affecting his draft status.

He made his major league debut for the Red Sox on June 22, 2023, pitching in relief of opener Justin Garza against the Minnesota Twins. He gave up 3 runs in 6 2/3 innings, including a monster 465-foot home run by Byron Buxton in the 3rd. Buxton had already hit a 466-foot off Garza in the 1st, making him the first player in the Statcast era to hit tow bombs of over 465 feet in the same game.
