Biographical Information[edit]

The son of former big league pitcher Brian Snyder and brother of twins Michael Snyder and Matt Snyder, Brandon Synder was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the 2005 amateur draft. Syder had led Team USA at the 2004 World Junior Championship, hitting .421 with 6 RBI in six games, playing primarily third base. He signed with scout Ty Brown and made his pro debut that summer with the Bluefield Orioles, where he hit .271 with 8 home runs in 44 games, before being promoted to the Aberdeen IronBirds, where he hit .393 in 8 games.

Snyder split the 2006 season between Aberdeen and the Delmarva Shorebirds but struggled at the plate. Between the two clubs, he hit just .213, and he struck out 98 times in 72 games.
