Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Brandon Grudzielanek was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as an amateur free agent before the 2017 season. He is the nephew of Mark Grudzielanek.

In his first professional season, he played one game for the GCL Blue Jays, going 2 for 3, before moving up to the Bluefield Blue Jays of the Appalachian League. There, he hit .295 with 2 homers and 27 RBIs in 38 games. On March 17, 2018, the Blue Jays decided to highlight the number of second-generation ballplayers in their organization by starting six of them in a game against the Canadian junior national team. Brandon was the starting DH in the game, joining six players whose fathers had played in the majors in the 1990s.
