Brandon Grey Owls
62 years after the last pro baseball team called Brandon, MB home, the Brandon Grey Owls represented the city as charter members of the 1995 Prairie League. The club finished in last place, going 19-51 in their debut season under the direction of three different managers, the final being former Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Bryan Clutterbuck. Attendance was the lowest in the circuit at 24,757. The team was led by a pair of Manitoba natives, P/1B Jamie Hodgson and 2B Scott Hlady, and All-Star nominee P Brian Heil.
The Grey Owls were little better in 1996, going 26-53 and repeated as last place finishers. L.J. Dupuy managed that team, which had no All-Stars and the lowest attendance (10,967) of any team to complete its schedule. The team was renamed the West Man Wranglers in 1997.
