Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Brad Pounders was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 3rd round of the 1984 amateur draft. He led the 1984 Northwest League with 16 2B, 10 HR, and 137 TB and led league third baseman with 68 PO and 31 errors. He was moved to first base in 1985. Pounders led the 1986 California League with 35 HR. Pounders hit 27 HR in 309 AB for the 1987 Wichita Pilots and slugged .628, better than league leader La Vel Freeman (.627) and also got 172 AB in AAA. He finished his career in 1988 with the Las Vegas Stars.

His son is Brooks Pounders.
