Bouke Vakkers pitched for the Dutch national team that was in the 1973 Amateur World Series and won a Silver Medal in the 1975 European Championship. In the Hoofdklasse that year, he threw a no-hitter for Haarlem Nicols. His brother Rob Vakkers also played in the Hoofdklasse.
