Boston Royal Giants
The Boston Royal Giants were a minor black team of the 1940s. They were an independent semi-pro team in 1940 and 1941, and were members of the mis-named Negro Major League in 1942. They were managed by former Negro Leagues player Burlin White during much of that time. They continued to play after the demise of the NML after a single season, they returned to independent play, apparently suspending operations after 1946.
The team was only one of a handful of Negro league teams to have a home base in Boston, and played most of their games on a barnstorming basis.
